There are several avenues available to iwi members wanting to further their education and skills development. For example, we provide grants to help tauira (students) meet the fees and/or course costs charged by education providers. Note that education grants are only made once a year and are for courses that start in the following academic year.
Ngāti Apā ki te Rā Tō currently have a partnership with Workforce Development Limited in providing Literacy & Numeracy up-skilling to members in the workforce.
This program involves the employer and the employee working with both Workforce Development and Ngāti Apā ki te Rā Tō over a 20 week course designed to improve individual skills relevant to the workplace environment.
These programs can be at no cost to our members and will improve prospects for promotion and future employment prospects.
